Last month I drove behind a 114i F20. I had no idea that a 14i existed. There were 5 young people in it. It must be cheap to insure because it has a shocking 100hp.
Lol. Crazy how under powered the 114i is. I breezed past it on the motorway with ease in my M140i with three times the power. However the M140i is very expensive for people under the age of 25 to insure for the following reason:That is a bit sad. On the plus side, it was still RWD then, so they could at least appreciate the handling if not the knuckle-ripping speed.
The last car I was in that was badged 114i, was a Rover Metro at college. Having just looked it up on Wiki (and assuming it was an 8 valve since I doubt my mate could have insured anything with a 16v badge on it at the time), that had 75hp - bit sad the Bimmer only has 25hp more!
I'm in my mid 30s but it's cheaper to insure myself for a C63 or Nissan GTR than my M140i.
No. My mods haven't impacted insurance. That's mental, but not unexpected I suppose. Did the mod's you've had done have any substantial effect on that?
Going back a while I was looking for an E81 (3 door) 130i, the number of Cat D write-offs out there was silly, and the insurance was substantially more than a 135i coupe... Hot Hatch culture in the UK I suppose!
@CenturionNow the car is sorted to the point that I let friends drive the car hard in Sport+.
