SLR SLR Roadster @ 2007 LA Auto Show

The Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren (C199 / R199 / Z199) is a grand tourer jointly developed by Mercedes-Benz and McLaren Automotive and sold from 2003 to 2010. When the car was developed, Mercedes-Benz owned 40 percent of the McLaren Group and the car was produced in conjunction between the two companies. The "SLR" name is an abbreviation for "Sport Leicht Rennsport" (Sport Light Racing), and was a homage to the Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR which served as the car's inspiration. The car was offered in coupé, roadster and speedster bodystyles, with the latter being a limited edition model.

So Mercedes didn't show the CLS, SLK or SL facelift! Rats. I was expecting at least one of them, at least maybe the CLS since they wouldn't have to reveal any new engines. That means that at least one of these and the GLK have to be shown at Detroit IMO.

Looks like you're gonna have fun at Detroit. SLR Roadster, and the new GLK for sure. Not sure about the facelifted SL, but the facelifted SLK and CLS are a possiblity.

I'm tempted to go now :D .

I doubt Daimler will use Detroit for any major model debuts. Their strategy seems to be: arouse American apetite by releasing debuts in Europe (Frankfurt, Geneva) and by the time their American debut is due, the cars are already available on sale. So, here in the D, we are simply going to get to see what has been previously released elsewhere.

That's true Pagani, especially with top models such as the S, CL and SL. But with facelifts, I don't think they mind debuting facelifts at NA auto shows.

Oh I doubt that Pagani. I bet the GLK and something else will be there. I wouldn't be surprised if the GLK and SL facelift are shown in Detroit. New York in April will bring out this SL Black Series just like they did this past April with the CLK Black Series. Most Americans don't know much about foreign autoshows anyway IMO. Mercedes also has the CLS and SLK facelifts to show at some point. Detroit has to get some of this since L.A. didn't.
