SLR McLaren (C199) SLR prototype in TVR


The Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren C199 is a grand tourer jointly developed by Mercedes-Benz and McLaren Automotive. Body styles: C199 coupé, R199 roadster, and Z199 speedster. The "SLR" name is an abbreviation for "Sport Leicht Rennsport" (Sport Light Racing), and a homage to the Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR (W196S) which served as the car's inspiration. Production: 2003–2010 (2,157 produced). Model years: 2004–2010.

I think it was the original test mules for the SLR...not 100% sure...
 
I sometimes wonder what an updated SLR with the steering rack, the 7-speed MCT transmission, and carbon ceramic brakes from the SLS would be like....

Yeah, that's how they tested the SLR. Kinda like how the SLS was tested with a Dodge Viper body.
I thought they destroy mules after the tests are done? These look like they're sitting in an MB garage somewhere.
I remember there was a video too.
