Movies SkyFall (James Bond23 - 2012)

Can't stand Daniel Craig. I went to sleep watching the first of his bond films. Haven't been interesting in the rest. Glad some of you enjoyed it though.

If you think Craig is bad, go and watch any of the last few Bond films done by Brosnan. They were pretty good for their time, but when I watch them now, they seem so cheesy in comparison. Craig just looks more believable, more serious and brings about more emotion in Bond's character than anyone of his predecessors. You also have to bear in mind that the Craig era marks a reboot to the Bond franchise for the newer generation and so far I think he's done a great job.

I thought it was long, boring, the AM DB5 bit was completely pointless

Perhaps you haven't seen earlier Bond films, but the DB5 played a very pivotal role in this film as far as Bond nostalgia is concerned. It paid tribute to a lot of Bond films of yesteryear in a subtle manner which perhaps only Bond enthusiasts can appreciate.

Just came back from the movie. It was good, entertaining but it is lacking the glamour of the James bond in Casino Royale. The story line, and the general feel of the movie felt similar to the dark knight, as Huckfeldt pointed out below.

Mendes has openly stated that he is a fan of Christopher Nolan, but come on. Skyfall is James Bond Rises. Don't get me wrong, I like the movie, but I can't stand the blatantly carbon copied themes.
First, Bond is "killed" then rises when his hometown is threatened.
At least Bond is partying next to the beach and had a hot woman by his side while Bruce Wayne locked himself inside the room.

The villain, which is a blend between the Joker and Bane.
Very true.

At first, the urgency is about the missing harddisk which contains the identity of every agent undercover. Nothing is more important about the safety of all agents but in the middle of the story, everyone suddenly forgot about it.
Well the MI6 was bombed and the agents who were exposed were killed, so the only way to prevent more deaths is to go straight to the mastermind.

Then, Bond brought M back to his.. Wayne Manor. With an old Alfred waiting. Oh come on, of all places, this is supposed to be the best to protect his boss ?? Result : mission failed, isn't it ?
I don't understand this part as well, of all places, they have to go to the most remote location, with zero transportation and communication with the outside world. That really back fired massively.

I'm officially done with Batman, Spiderman, Superman, James Bond et al movies. The writers are totally out of new ideas. Actually walked out of the theatre before Dench died; a storm rolled in just before the movie begun and thought it more prudent to get the wife home rather than see this dull Bond installment through to its conclusion.

Dench dying looks to be a desperate attempt by the writers to tug at your heart strings. Sad.

He did that because he knew that whenever there was technology, Bradem would have the upper hand.
