This is the Lamborghini Murciélago SV, a more powerful, lightweight, rear-wheel-drive edition planned for launch later this year.

The SV, expected to be the last evolution of the Lambo’s range-topper, will be based on the current LP640 flagship.

Insiders at Sant’Agata claim that the SV will have more power than the 641bhp V12 Reventon, and should lose at least 100kg over the 1660kg LP640. Power output is expected to be around 680bhp.

Weight will be cut by losing the front differential and driveshafts, the electronic system that raises and lowers the rear spoiler and the multimedia system, and by using lightweight alloys and carbonfibre door panels.

Expect the SV’s static wing to come in carbonfibre, too, and for buyers to be able to choose between a smaller wing and the larger, more extravagant one seen in these pictures.

The Murciélago SV takes its name from the Diablo SV, which also lost its four-wheel drive system in favour of rear-wheel drive.

I knew the Reventon should've had more power than LP640.

I usually hate big wings, but I guess its there for a pretty good purpose. Interesting to see a RWD Murci.

im kind of starting to get tired of the murcie, to me the gallardo is way more appealing..
in a day where super cars weigh like leafs this one is to heavy and old fashioned..
a damn good looking car..
but technically .. hmm time for a change maybe

I'm with you, the G is way better looking than the M.

Wow. Just wow. Restored my faith once again in their flagship model. The Reventon was cool, but this is so much more accessible and faster :D:D

Sure we can all hammer the Murc for it's high weight and slightly lack luster technology but I think the car is a good deal. Although I'm not the biggest fan I do feel a bit obligated to defend it since it's not that bad at all. Compared with the Zonda, CGT and SLR which all cost astronomical fantasy sums the Murc has been quite a good deal. It and the 599GTB fill up a gap in the market which need more competition.

^yep im with you on that..
i forgot to write that , but i was thinking it..
the car is actually really good value despite all those things..:D

Holy smokes, what a great move from Lambo :icondrool...!

Something, I always dreamed of & something to keep the Diablo's soul rest happily ever after :t-cheers:...!

+1
Beautiful and incredibly powerful, but seems very dated. Reviewers consistently describe it as too big, not very nimble, fast but not lively.
The Gallardo seems like a better design center. I had a chance to drive one pretty hard once, though the 4wd thing felt very odd for a performance car. OTOH I could just stare at that one all day...
