very nice, must have been to show it at Manhattan Motor Cars, for orders to a handful of REAL buyers!

You might be right Alex. This looks very familiar to me, I think it's 29th street and 8th Avenue:

This is clearly the main post office on 34th st. and 8th Ave. :

Can't believe I missed seeing this car on the streets of my neightborhood :(

It surely is.... yeh i would love to have seen a right hand drive 100ex. in person too.

Btw, has Rolls given this 101EX the green light yet,!
Well the 100EX/101EX form the basis of what the new Corniche will be like ...as for the Coupe version (101EX), R-R have not yet confirmed there will be a hard-top Corniche model ....but I would not be surprised if they did produce it. When the old Corniche was first launched in 1966 it was called the Silver Shadow coupe and was available as a hard-top model -- it was renamed "Corniche" in 1971. Interestingly however, the name Corniche was first designated to a Bentley prototype in 1939 ...but WW2 prevented that vehicle from being developed further.

Nice insight and historical perspective, thanks!
