Road & Track's two-second club - first supercar inductees [video]

You. The Road. Nothing else.
0-to-60 mph in less than three seconds

In Europe the 0-to-200 km/h (124 mph) sprint is one of the most important benchmarks when evaluating the true performance of hardcore supercars. However, American magazine Road & Track is placing emphasis on the lower end of the spectrum highlighting vehicles that can do the 0-to-60 mph (98 km/h) sprint in less than three seconds.

Their rationale is that 0-60 mph is obviously more accessible and relatable to most people on a daily basis. Vehicles that can achieve this benchmark in less than three seconds deserve to be ackowledged as being in the Two-Second Club. But that's not to say 0-to-60 is the only benchmark. It is one of many which the magazine uses to paint an overall picture.

So far the first inductees include the Nissan GT-R, Porsche 911 Turbo S and the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport, but surely other obvious contenders include the Ferrari 458, Lamborghini Aventador, Lexus LFA and the Mercedes SLS to name a few.

Check out the video to see what numbers the they come up with.
