BMW's new 750Li is better in every way
What a way to spend a beautiful fall day, driving around the country roads near Dresden, Germany, in the all-new 5th generation 7 Series. As you can see from the photos and videos, there are a quite a few differences between it and the current car, while the basic foundation that made this large sedan a favorite with driving enthusiasts all over the world remains.
There will be a number of 7 Series variants offered in Europe, but we get only the 750i and 750Li. Our test car was the 750Li — the L stands for "long wheelbase." In this case, it has been extended 10.2 in. (to 126.4 in.) over the base model. The designers of the new 7 Series did a commendable job of making the car look smaller than it actually is. Overall length, width and height are 205.3, 74.9 and 58.3, in., respectively. The face has changed slightly, highlighted by new headlights that feature an "eyebrow" and wider kidney-shaped grille. The rear end has been thoroughly redesigned, with more conventional taillights that could be from a Lexus. Personally, I prefer the styling of the current car. It was more distinctive, especially the rear end.
