BMW's new 750Li is better in every way

What a way to spend a beautiful fall day, driving around the country roads near Dresden, Germany, in the all-new 5th generation 7 Series. As you can see from the photos and videos, there are a quite a few differences between it and the current car, while the basic foundation that made this large sedan a favorite with driving enthusiasts all over the world remains.

There will be a number of 7 Series variants offered in Europe, but we get only the 750i and 750Li. Our test car was the 750Li — the L stands for "long wheelbase." In this case, it has been extended 10.2 in. (to 126.4 in.) over the base model. The designers of the new 7 Series did a commendable job of making the car look smaller than it actually is. Overall length, width and height are 205.3, 74.9 and 58.3, in., respectively. The face has changed slightly, highlighted by new headlights that feature an "eyebrow" and wider kidney-shaped grille. The rear end has been thoroughly redesigned, with more conventional taillights that could be from a Lexus. Personally, I prefer the styling of the current car. It was more distinctive, especially the rear end.

"On the Autobahn, at 150 mph, the 7 didn't feel as stable as the previous car,"

:eusa_thin

While it looks like it should have from the start of the Bangle era, which couldn`t have been that hard to achieve I still believe there are shortcuts in the overall design work.

BMW designs seem to "fold over" IMO.

I don`t think this car is 2-folds better than the current model. I`m going to hold my final judgement till we get more reviews.

Is he for real?

Think of it as the defensive lineman of automobiles: big, strong and fast.

This is what a Bmw is meant to be & this is what new big mammoth is! The next 7 will surely set new standards :usa7uh: ...!

There are so many conflicting reports on this.. super quite say some, than others say intruding wind noise from the side mirrors. Supreme comfort at higher speeds yet this one is inclining less control at high speeds? Are they all driving the same car?

With the big flagship cars such as the S, 7, and A8, what you don't need is gimmicks. The last 7 was gimmicky. The current S with all its greatness is gimmicky with the silly fender flares. Substance should always be the issue and the new 7 delivers.

The rear lights are quirky and I think need solid straight angles. The front is just plain dull. There's no other word for it. BMW has done some very interesting things with headlamps recently and they just went totally blah on this car.

This car is definately best in silhouette where it is instantly recognizable as a BMW.

I tuly love the new design of the 7er. It has a sense of appeal like no other. Although it seems that BMW has gone more conservative this time around, I see the design more of an evolutionary step than anything else.

I definitely like it.
