Our main man Vincent over at Autoblog.nl hipped us to yet another tuning package for the Mercedes-Benz SL.
This time around, it's the good folks over at Rieger Tuning willing to lend your stock SL a hand. Their tuning package includes modified headlamps, a new grill, front and rear bumpers, side skirts, and a new spoiler.
OK, so you're reading this, and probably thinking that the vehicle picture above looks pretty similar to a standard SL. There's a twist. What if we told you the Rieger-tuned SL isn't an SL at all - it's really a W170 SLK, disguised as Mercedes top of the line roadster. Yes, you heard me right. Look closely, and you'll see the SL isn't really an SL at all. Rieger has modified the aged SLK and updated it to look like a shiny new SL (with a few differences, of course).
According to Rieger Tuning, the package is intended for SLK owners happy with their current ride, but that want to add a extra touch of style to keep their SLK up to date.
The package includes the items mentioned above, and is priced around EUR 3,500 - 4,000 ($4,200 - $5,000 USD).
Again, I'm withholding judgment of the Rieger package, but I can honestly say at first glance had no idea it was really a disguised SLK (although I did think it looked a little odd).
