Considering the source of the illustration, its' accuracy may be highly questionable. But we get the gist.

The Type 133 4 door GT, yet to be officially named, will be positioned to clash swords with the VAG "J1" (Porsche Taycan/Audi eTron GT) automobiles. Exterior dimensions are said to be very similar, perhaps just a smidgen longer and wider. Various power versions will reportedly be offered, much like the recently presented Lotus Eletre SUV, the "base" version featuring approx. 445kW with the "top" version producing some 650+kW. Official presentation is tentatively set for sometime during the second half of 2023.

Won’t this also be in-house competition to Polestar?

The Polestar 5 (production Precept) is said to be a "more luxurious, comfort-oriented" offering. I believe to have read that the e-motors will be shared, but the remainder of the electric drivetrain will feature bespoke Lotus elements.

The comparision may not be the best, but I imagine that this will be similar to an intra-corporate "Porsche Panamera versus Audi S8" sort of thing when it comes to market positioning.

While volumes are up, net revenues and profit margins have been in retraction at Geely. Yet surely, Geely could foot the bill for Lotus brand expansion...couldn't it ?

The Lotus Eletre is being built in China, on the same platform as the upcoming Polestar 4.

I've read that while the platform is related, it is tailored to suit respective Lotus and Polestar specifications.

With all the Niche Sports Car manufactures expanding to SUVs and now Lotus finally developing a 4dr Sedan after that whimsical period where Danny Behr’s lottery ticket was not a winner.

Your move…Ferrari.
