Porsche 981 Boxster Turbo
Speculation render for turbocharged entry-level Porsche

Here are my newest renders for Porsche 981 Boxster Tubo. These are one of the most detailed renders that I`ve done.

First idea to make Boxster Turbo came from fact that new generation of Boxster is step forward when we talk about design.
Boxster always had great handling, but design and engines wasnt so impressive. So I thought that new generation of Boxster deserves "Turbo" bage.

Main goal was to keep Boxster styling, so when you look at the car you should notice that it is Turbo model, but still Boxster.

This is speculative engine configuration for Porsche 981 Boxster Tubo:
Engine layout: Mid-engine
Type: Twin-Turbo
Cylinders: 6
Displacement: 3 liters
Horsepower: 355 HP
Driveline: Rear Wheel Drive
Transmission: 7-Speed PDK or Manual
Top speed: 296 km/h
Acceleration from 0 - 100 km/h: 4.2

This render shows redesigned front bumper that follows Turbo philosphy from other Porsche models, so as side intakes.
Bottom trims on front bumper and side skirts are in carbon-fiber.

This render shows Boxster Turbo interior in red leather with elements in glossy black finish.
As option there should be black alcantara and brushed aluminium elements. Other alcanatara colors should be avilable in Exclusive Package.

This render shows Boxster Turbo with Exclusive Package.
This optional package should offer black wheels, black mirrors and black windshield frame.

This render shows Boxster Turbo interior with Exlusive Package.
This optional package should offer various bi-color leather combinations and bi-color alcantara combinations. Elements are in carbon fiber.

I also got the thought of a Boxter Turbo. There are rumors of a Turbo Flat 4 2.5l making 360 PS. Either the 981 will get the new FI H4 engines at facelift time, or indeed there is a plan on a Turbo version, that would explain the only 5 PS power increase of the S version. I think the Cayman will get the same treatment as all the other Porsches models:
Cayenne, Panamera, Cayman, 911 Carrera
Cayenne S, Panamera S, Cayman S, 911 Carrera S
Cayenne Turbo, Panamera Turbo, Cayman Turbo, 911 Turbo
Cayman R, 911 GT3

There are rumors of a Turbo Flat 4 2.5l making 360 PS.

But I'd still prefer a naturally aspirated flat-6 rather than a turbocharged flat-4. Firstly, this engine fits better in an entry-level car: that new '550 Spyder'. Secondly, sounds to me like a Subaru WRX STi. Or better, like a future BRZ STi. If a Boxster can't break the '400 PS barrier', I prefer a more balanced car, a better drivers car. And, as a matter of fact, this GT3-version already have a name: Boxster Spyder.

Thanx guys. I was thinking about 400+ hp Boxster, but that seems impossible from Porsche`s point of view. Unfortunately Boxster cant be more powerful/faster then base 911 :(

That is pity, because we know where is engine positioned in Boxster :)
