I am in the market for a used car. It will be my daily driver. I drive about 18K miles per year. Car needs to have A/T as my wife will need to drive it on occasion.

One of my priorities is a vehicle that will be as reliable as possible within this segment of vehicles. I am also looking for a vehicle that is fun to drive/sporty. Obviously this will be a higher mileage vehicle. I see a lot of these vehicles on Craigslist in my area (SF Bay Area) and just trying to weed out models that may be problematic.

The vehicles I am considering are:

BMW 3 and 5 series. Non turbo models.
Audi A6. Non turbo models
Audi A4 turbo and non-turbo.
Mercedes C,E.
Volvo S80.

Any input, advice, or models I am missing would be appreciated....Thanks!

Check the E46 3 series and E39 5 series with the I6 engines. They are the sportiest sedans in your price range.

On the other hand, the Volvo S80 is neither german, nor sporty. As an owner of its smaller brother, the S60, I can assure you that it's the perfect car for long distance travel, when your top priority is to reach your destination with the lowest possible fatigue, relaxed, comfortable, instead of the biggest possible smile on your face.

E90, E60, A6 C6, E-Class W211 and some early C's are also in his price range :)

I'd go for a 325i or 328i. Amazing cars that are pretty reliable and both have NA I6 engines and can be found for a good price :)
