Recaro and the R32 - Vehicle Seats in Hybrid Technology

With the new seat generation in hybrid technology, the South German premium seat manufacturer is once again leading the way in the market.

In 2002, the Golf R32 was born – the most successful Golf of all time. The success story is now being continued with the fifth Golf generation. The first-class Golf model with 250 PS is celebrating its premiere at the IAA. The consistent use of top-class technology is a running theme throughout the Golf R32. Volkswagen has chosen hybrid seats from Recaro for its car interior.

With this technology, the well-known premium seat manufacturer has succeeded in taking the motor-sport feeling, which had previously only been achieved in the simply designed full-shell seats, and combining it with elements of comfort. The driver is offered the drive feel of a racing shell without having to compromise on comfort elements such as seat height adjustment, back-rest tilt settings and seat heating.

Decades of experience in the racing sport industry and in the development and production of ergonomic full-seat systems have
provided the ideal base for the development of this seat revolution in hybrid technology. The concept, presented for the first time at the IAA 2003, has now become reality in the VW Golf R32.

The seat manufacturer from south Germany has shown that sporty drivers do not have to compromise on comfort
