R129 SL500 second facelift, panoramic roof

Bought a litte something for the summer. I've looked at a few of these and this one was just in such good condition I couldn't resist. Wasn't too sure on the light interior but it has grown on me.

It's surprising how solid it feels in comparison to the newer R230. Next step is some Leatherique on the leather, and perhaps some age appropriate AMG wheels.

This is a truly modern classic that is worth having. The car looks like it is in top condition too.

As for the wheels, you can't go wrong with the two piece AMG wheels.

How does it drive compare to your CL. Btw do you still have your SLS?

Compared to the CL it's a bit boaty, the ABC suspension is an improvement, though I don't really care, this is very smooth and comfortable but it does have movement when you brake or take a corner. I wonder what the ADS suspension that was fitted to SL 600s is like....

Yeah, still have the SLS, it's value has actually gone up.

Nothing surprising there, after all the R129 is from the golden era of MB engineering. Beautiful example though, looks mint, congrats for this great purchase..
