This is an unique opportunity to bring to life the classic lines of the Triumph TR, or Austin Haley, but adapted to the 21st century, under the MINI brand, that would fit perfectly (because BMW also owns the three brands).
I would LOVE to see and own something, like what GM did with the Camaro or BMW did the same with the new MINI, chrome and muscular lines but with the spirit of the inventors of small roadsters, the English .....

It would need to be rear wheel drive for it to be epic, and I doubt Mini is going to make any RWD cars in the near future.

Sorry to disappoint you, but it will never happen. If that is what you are looking for you'll have to wait and turn to the FMR new Mazda MX-5/Alfa Spider or MR VW Bluesport/Audi R4. Even next generation 2 Series is certainly not be RWD.

MINI

Mini (stylized as MINI) is a British automotive brand founded in 1969, owned by German BMW since 2000, and used by them for a range of small cars assembled in the United Kingdom, Austria, and the Netherlands. The word Mini has been used in car model names since 1959, and in 1969 it became a brand in its own right when the name "Mini" replaced the separate "Austin Mini" and "Morris Mini" car model names.
