Poll Porsche Cayman GT4 vs Ferrari 488 GTB

For whatever reason which one is your personal choice?

This is, in fact, the most off putting thing for me about a Ferrari (besides of course, the fact I can't afford a decent one). I felt like a big douche bag pulling into a lunch place in a Ferrari. My wife was so embarrassed, she actually hid under the dash, acting like she dropped something on the floorboard for a good 2 minutes before emerging. I didn't even wait for her, cause I wanted to get away from the car as soon as possible. It was a mess.

Not a commentary on Ferrari or other Ferrari owners. If you have the personality to pull it off, more power to you. But the attention it gathers, makes it incompatible with my personality. I will still take a Speciale though, even if it means wearing a full face mask everywhere.

Dress like Stig.
Seriously though, for an average Joe who knows virtually nothing this GT4 or a GT3 (RS) is almost equally as attention grabbing, surely?

Porsches are a dime a dozen here, no one pays attention to them. And most don't know, nor care about a more souped up GT version. I had to explain to almost every non gas-head friend what it is. An RS with some bright red stickers, probably gets some attention.

Already have a 991 GT3 which I'm going to keep forever, so I would choose a Ferrari in this poll. But my first choice Ferrari would not be the 488GTB. It would be the F12.

I've owned Japanese inline 4 cylinder engines, German inline 4 cylinder engines, German V6 engines, German V8 engines, German twin turbo inline 6 cylinder engines, and German flat 6 cylinder engines. But I have not ever experienced an Italian V12 engine!!

I've been there before :D it gets more complicated when you start bringing up the acronyms PCCB, PSM, PCM and DCT.

The Porsche has a big advantage over the Italian beauty, it can fly under the radar and nobody would notice whether it was a base Carrera, GTS, Targa, GTx, Turbo

Boxster & Cayman in their eyes are the girly cars or as most would call it a poor man's 911 :jpshakehe :nopity:

The greatest advantage of the F12, rather, any Ferrari GT, is that, in the right combination, they can be quite stealthy. On a daily basis, I see a Silverstone grey/Cuoio F12, with black emblems and no shields as well as a Blu Pozzi FF and they are as nondescript as a base 911 or Continental.

Hypercars aside, we often forget that color is the main factor of how attention grabbing a car will be to the general public.

That being said, its apples and oranges. Both cars are stunning in their own right and I'm quite sure that both will be found side by side in many enthusiast's garages in the near future.

Close call but looks like the Ferrari is the winner.

(I'm 39 today, dayym I'm old)

Happy Birthday old man... one more year and then you can buy an automatic. For now, an old-school, NA GT4 is the way to go for the sake of posterity.

You wanna hear a sad fact: my cayman S is specced more expensive than the GT4 :hungover:

I like the Cayman. But a ferrari is a ferrari. Many like horses but maniacs raise gators as pets :D

GT4 for me. Make that Sapphire blue or Jet black. Ferrari is awesome and all, but somehow I'd feel uneasy driving/owning one.
