Yepp the Cayenne is dead heavy for a Porsche.

Yep, and it seems to be a trend. The old X5 was ligher, but the new X5 is heavier compared to the Cayenne.

It so pisses me off when BMW/Porsche make porkers.
Why an earth don't they have ASF like Audi and Jaguar.

ML63:

+ Acceleration
+ Costs
- Performance
- Weight
- Consumption

Cayenne:

+ Performance
+ Off-road
+ Top speed
- Price
- Weight

I have often wondered the same thing, but I think Porsche, BMW, and Mercedes for that matter aren't convinced going aluminum is worth the cost and I seem to remember something by either MB or Porsche saying that safety was an issue when Audi first came out with their first aluminum car. Audi doesn't get nearly the weight advantage they should vs BMW/MB compared to what Jaguar does with the XJ.
