Our friend Daniel from the Spanish car blog Motorpasion posted this picture of a Porsche Cayenne that looks like it got its wheels (and plenty of other mechanical elements) shaved off after a close encounter with the chain between the two poles. There are no details to as how or where the accident happened but we’ve never seen something like this before.

It's a Gemballa, if i'm not mistaken...:eusa_thin

:t-cheers:

I've never seen anything like it. The driver is lucky there was a rope there otherwise the car would have swallowed the building in front of it. It must have felt like hell when the car ripped through the rope, neck injuries and sh1t.

That's Moscow Russia if I've ever seen it... city is more rugged than Chuck Norrris :D

Something isn't right here. A chain wouldn't shave off rims like that, or would it? Why wouldn't the vehicle just snap the chain? Inexplicable.

I am seriously wondering if this is an art installation .....it is sometimes hard to tell these days.

Quite easily possible judging by the width of the chain links. Just simply tore straight thorugh it like a knife would thorugh hot butter...

Makes for a great picture. Hope the driver is alright! Lucky it wasnt a sports car that had been lowered or he may have been decapitated!!!!

The chain is on the ground and poles that were holding it aren't even bent or anything, yet we're supposed to believe the chain held up to shave the bottoms off of the alloy wheels? Nah. There is either more to this or its a trick.

I think it could be a marketing stunt of some kind .....this is currently the big thing in the advertising world. Rather than using obvious billboards, advertisers create unexpected "ambient" situations, experiences, or interactive environmental installations to draw a crowd, attract attention, and create publicity -- often the product being advertised is not entirely obvious.

Only way I can imagine this happening is, the vehicle had those parking enforcement clamps around the wheels and they tried to drive off the car with it. It broke the wheels and the driver lost control and ran over the chain. There is no way the chain it self could do this unless some one deliberately ran it through the wheel spokes or something.

Now that sounds more reasonable. We have a device here like that, it is called the denver boot.
