Personnel Changes in the Volkswagen Group

Wolfsburg, 23 January 2007 - Walter Maria de Silva has been appointed Head of Group Design effective February 1, 2007, and will thus be responsible for the design lines of all passenger car brands going forward. Previously, de Silva held the same function at Audi, where he was Head of Design at the now discontinued Audi brand group, comprising the Audi, Seat and Lamborghini brands. He replaces Murat Günak, who is leaving the Company by mutual agreement.

Matthias Müller is the new Head of Product Planning, Product Management and Model Series for the Volkswagen Group and the Volkswagen brand. In this position he will be responsible for the Volkswagen brand’s product lines and will coordinate product line development within the Group going forward. Previously, Müller held a similar position at Audi, where he was responsible for the B and C model series and for Lamborghini.
Wolfgang Hatz has been appointed Head of Powertrain Development in the Volkswagen Group, and will retain his existing position as Head of Powertrains at the Audi brand.

Can't wait to see what changes will be made to existing and future products. De Silva most definitely has an eye for good design.
