Sprinter Oh look! It's the new Mercedes-Benz Sprinter!

The Mercedes-Benz Sprinter is a light commercial vehicle built by Mercedes-Benz as a large van, chassis cab, minibus, and pickup truck. In the Mercedes-Benz van lineup, the Sprinter is the largest model offered, followed by the mid-size Vito (aka Viano, V-Class, EQV) and the small Citan.

This is the Panel Van Short version. Looks quite good for a delivery vehicle.

The Crewbus version can accomodate an entire football (soccer) team.

The Sprinter got a SAT-NAV! Now the delieveries will no longer get lost in town.

To be honest, I liked the old version more. This thing looks "fat" and "gimmicky" to be honest. Even the interior is kinda ugly, although the materials look better than the outgoing model (as if that's important for such cars).

I agree with you. The head lights on this one look to happy. The old one looks alot sharper.

Why couldn't they make the headlight washers covers body colored? Is it that much more expensive to produce them body-colored?

There's no denying the old model looked much sharper, but at least it looks better than its VW sibling, the Crafter:

The people/companys that buy those vehicles don't care much about looks, they care about practicality and storage volume. Which I the new Merc offers a shitload of.

Oh hey, would you look at that. Twins ? .. No, not really.. but suprisingly similar.

The new Benz looks too happy.. like it took some happy-pills... not exactly the look you associate with people who use these type of vehicles (IMO).
I actually prefer the VW Crafter to the MB Sprinter.

****..ummm.. guys ? ... have you noticed that the VW and Benz are IDENTICAL except for the front. The grey plastic on the side of both vehicles. The identical wheel arches... identical placement of the orange indicators on the side of the vehicles. The character line along the side of both vehicles. Am I missing some sort of alliance in creating these two vehicles...?? :eusa_thin

They won't market this car as an MB here in the states because they think it will devalue the prestige and definition of the brand in the eyes of enthusiast and consumers alike, so they sell it as a dodge? :t-crazy2: > Can't fool people like me. :D

You'll note my amazement to actually see on the current ones in Mercedes trim, big star in the grille and all a few weeks ago. I was like ooops they forgot to re-badge this one...lol.

LOL - I never knew that until I read your post. The other day I saw one used by FedEx and I got up close to glance at the interior. That's a Mercedes interior all right (the gearshifter, the steering wheel & instrument cluster). At least there's a badge on the side that says "Powered by Mercedes-Benz"
:D

It seems that there are quiet few of them out there.

Yeah this thing has taken the delivery van market by storm. Their is FedEx depot somewhere around my house because in the morning the sprinters are all around in droves starting their daily routes. DCX's commercial side had a huge year in 2005, now I see why.
