Officially Introducing Myself

Hey guys!

I've been here for a while now, and I've posted irregularly on topics I felt strongly about, but I thought a proper introduction was long overdue.

I'm originally from Bahrain, but I've spent four years in the good ol' USA studying Engineering. I graduated last June, and I'm now in Africa on a 10-month fellowship from my college. I'm studying how carbon credit systems can be implemented here, how institutions can achieve carbon-neutral status, as well as biofuel use (specifically, the conversion of biomass to sweet, sweet diesel ;) ).

I'm a big fan of technology (obviously), and my hobbies include photography and vehicle design. I haven't bought a car yet.. I don't think I will for a while. But I do drive cars the family owns, including the S8 (God, I miss that car).

Anyway, just wanted to say hi and get to know my fellow members.

Welcome! :t-cheers:

It's good to have more members who are into photography. We have a large photographic community here and we're constantly looking for ways to improve ourselves through tips and stuff like that. Feel free to join in and share your opinion!

Photographing the Audi S8 is a great place to start! :D :icondrool

Thanks for the warm welcome, Christian. I must say, your photos provide some much-needed relief given the intensity of the African sun, and for that, I thank you greatly. :D

Martin, I'm based at an EU-funded research university in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. I was going to spend my year in Johannesburg (at the African Leadership Academy), but was assigned this placement instead. If I'd known how well-represented the RSA is on GCF, I might have fought harder for that spot. ;)

Welcome! Enjoy your stay! :D

Your interests are very interesting I must say. Post some photos and designs if it's not a problem!

Well it's nice to meet you Ahmed. Thanks for the info - Burkina Faso eh? Interesting. Good luck with your internship in Africa!
