Following an unwelcome leak over the weekend, Lamborghini has taken the wraps off the the Aventador J speedster at a special preview event for the Volkswagen Group this evening. It is described as the most uncompromising super sports car that the brand has ever made. There is no roof, there is no windscreen and it can hit speeds of more than 300 kph (186 mph). Therefore, it doesn't take an Einstein to know that anybody driving this model is definitely going to need additional protective gear.Whilst many could be forgiven for thinking the "J" of the super car's name pays homage to the legendary Jota from the 1970s, it is actually derived from the technical sporting rules of the different races under the FIA umbrella. As we have already mentioned, the body does not feature a windscreen or roof and results in dimensions that measure 4890 mm long, 2030mm wide and a height of just 1110mm. It results in the Aventador J being the lowest model that Lamborgini has ever built. The front is dominated by the huge carbon fiber air scoop that features winglets on the outer edges which has been designed to give the aura of a Formula 1 car when viewed from the side. Additionally, we can also see the 20-inch five-spoke aluminum wheels as well as the ultra thin doors that open upwards in true Lamborghini style and feature very small side windows. The open-air style of the exterior naturally influences the interior. The red exterior livery flows through the interior with a red stripe that runs from the front hood, between the driver and passenger seats all the way to the rear end.The brutal power is achieved with the help of the 6.5-liter V12 engine that has been sourced from its production coupe sibling. Output is rated at 700 PS (690 bhp / 515 kW) and 690 Nm (509 lb-ft) of torque and it is mated with Lamborghini Independent Shifting Rod (ISR) transmission and a permanent all-wheel-drive system. Are you one of the many people wanting to get your hands on this special model. Unfortunately, the opportunity has already gone as the special one-off Aventador J speedster has already been sold for more than €2.2 million.

On the outside, Lamborghini says that virtually every part was redesigned. The Italian exotic rides on new specially developed 20-inch rims at the front and 21-inch at the rear shod in extra beefy tires. It measures 4,890mm in length, 2,030mm wide and just 1,110mm tall.

The Aventador J loses many luxury amenities such as the air conditioning and the navigation systems not only to lower the supercar's weight down to 1,575kg (3,742 pounds), but also to provide a more extreme driving experience.

What remains the same as the Aventador LP700-4 coupe is the 691bhp (700PS) 6.5-litre V12 lurking behind the passenger compartment.

Stunning machine. A 12-Cylinder go kart. Looks so sharp yet evil. Good job Lambo, now bring on the Aventador Roadster to life. :usa7uh:

From all the cars in the world, this is the one that's the most naturally compatible with the barquette format. This is violently desirable.

Possibly one of the worst cars @ Geneva. When you look at Ferrari and the F12 Berlinetta it is pure classic Italian beauty sophia Lauren or Monica Belluci every curve , every impression just floors me with its beauty. In real life , in the actual flesh it is absolutely gorgeous And I just had to buy one which I did.
When you look at the Lamborghini it is Kim Kardashian , an over application of un-natural beauty with no genetics and pushed into focus by a Kash crazy over exploitive parentage (VAG) hence why the bids start at 2Million.

But look at the Ferrari and you see that history , you see that natural beauty and you see the heritage. It is great to see Ferrari actually taking progress as an art form. The F12 Berlinetta is automotive Art and pure-bred Italia.

^Scott, I'd say the price is more indicative of the limited nature (1 of 1 in the world). Hard to believe this could be anywhere near the worst of Geneva.
Are you saying you bought a Ferrari F12??

Not crazy about the wing supports though I suppose they could be a testament to the strength of carbon fiber. One of the few cars that I like much more in roadster form than the coupe though admittedly it's not quite fair to others as it's basically just a concept.
Lambo doesn't have the genetics or pedigree of Ferrari, but they don't have to. Being bold and over-the-top is what they bring to the market and it's nice to have the choice.

This car reminds me a lot of this original Hot Wheels design:

It was not the absolute worst car there. But was on my list. The Bentley is on there too but in amongst the challenging appearance you can understand the purpose and its intent in the ever-growing luxury car market.

Are you saying you bought a Ferrari F12??
I did indeed , unfortuantely it was a 1:43 resine model of 100 pieces on a real leather base, individually numbered , impeccably manufactured and meticulously detailed , even the switches on the steering wheel have decals, but still absolutely stunning to look at. As I said it is pure automotive art, a shame it is not the real thing. I think Norbert Reithofer is getting one , he has an Enzo amongst others.

Congrats on your new Berlinetta - first in the forum :)

Edit: Ahhh I'm also a die-cast and resin models collector :)
Looksmart or MR Collection is yours ?

Amazing machine indeed. Attention to detail indeed makes a big difference, when it comes to the exclusivity factor in those hyper cars of today!
