In every relationship there is one party who needs the other party more than they need them. Aston couldn't afford to develop new drivetrains. Mercedes offered them a V8, Gearbox and ECU pairing.I don't understand how they could have thought that an Aston having the same infotainment would be a problem. He's right that was a silly agreement all to false protect Mercedes. They should have had MBUX from the start.

Merc probably also said, hey, in the deal, we could chuck in an MBUX. Strapped for cash, Aston said yes, saving themselves tens of millions in developing, building and maintaining their own homegrown Infotainment. They should have done what Volvo did years ago, work with Google!
