Juke Nissan Juke design inspiration explained.

The Nissan Juke is a subcompact crossover SUV (B-segment) produced by the Nissan since 2010. Debuted as a production vehicle at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show in March, it was introduced to North America at the 2010 New York International Auto Show to be sold for the 2011 model year as the smallest crossover in Nissan's lineup prior to the introduction of Magnite in 2020.

I for one am passionate about car design and always keen on being enlightened by the man behind the pen about what ideas the design elements stem from.

Having seen the Nissan Juke a few times I am incapable of embracing the design. It's in a league of its along together with the Multipa and Aztek. The architect behind the design takes you into world of methaphor and hyperbole hell as he tries to justify the design. Biggest shocker is "The dash is a like an athletic man in a wet suit. You can feel where the power is". I for one have never seen a man in a wet suit and neither do I want to feel where the power is on their body. :D:cwm1::cwm1:

Hahah..i always thought what these ppl who design..amazingly ugly products think when it rolls off the line for the first time...

I guess i got my answer and then some..
i mean this dude lives in his own bubble..
Tragic thing is, that no one along the whole process told him to wake up!!!

So according to the designer, the Junk is "sexy", "urban proof"

The interior is like an "athletic guy in a wet suit"

The exterior "push the boundary of adventitious design"

And the car is "Easy to dream in"

This happens when you are popping the wrong pills. The car is a rolling message for everyone

DO NOT DO DRUGS :eusa_naug

It never ceases to amaze me, how people try to convince me that ugly is now the new beautiful. Now, I've got no problem when a manufacturer breaks the mould. However, ugly, still is ugly, no matter how much you tell me that "it looks radical".

When I said that the Nissan Juke has all the beauty and grace of a gangrene wound, people were quick to tell me "you're a git!", "you are very uncool", "you drive a Passat estate, *** do you know about design?"

Well, I'm sorry for having an opinion, but the only thing the Nissan Juke does for me is to make me nauseous and that video made me hate the car even more.

I think you guys are being too harsh. Around 1:00 into the video, there is a design sketch of the Juke and I think it actually looks good there. Of course like most adventrous design, things get lost in the transformation from a design sketch too production model.

Nissan could always have binned the project once they got to see the design sketch translated into a full scale glory. Either way Nissan is an industrial giant and can afford the loses that this car will incur.

I don't have any problem with the weirdo crossover at all. However... I do need my Maxima's steering-wheel changed. Can't believe they both share the same wheel. :eusa_doh:

Too bad you weren't as keen to find the actual guy who penned the design in question.

It was certainly an uplifting revelation to be educated about the cars design using rather unorthodox analogies. The designer does get a few extra street kudos for the enthusiasm. At the end of the day he's a designer and many great artists and designers have an element of craziness in their soul. How do I know? I work in the creative industry and I'm too at times considered to be a bit insane -- but in a healthy way.

The identity of the actual pen-man is apparent to anyone with an internet connection and a desire to know. I too was seeking to be enlightened by his explanation of the design. Imagine my surprise when I arrive and find Alfonso Albaisa's corporate snow-job instead. Much like with German cars, my quarrel with Centurion's thread is not it's performance but it's reliability.

That said, the part about the wet suit is one of the funniest things I've ever seen. It really lets you put his earlier comments into context. Like when he bends over in front of the car and talks about "feeling it's solid stance".

What I can't believe is how nobody took him aside and said "Sorry, Alfonso. We're gonna have to shoot the interior sequence again. I realize you think the way to get our target thrill-seeking customer's attention is to "show him something new", but we don't think even he is extreme enough to go that far."

I like the Juke. Truely. It's a nice, adventurous, daring design and I'm all for it.

Wouldn't buy it, I'm not into SUVs/crossovers, but overall it's way better than ugly-boring Qashqai!!
