And it gets crazier when you consider the GT R Nismo they drove didn't have carbon ceramic brakes or R compound tires...very strange omission on a track focused car.$178k(!) for the Nissan(?) Crazy... They're already struggling to sell at $110k+ for the regular version.?
Boy they went on-and-on criticizing the MB GT R's lively rear-end. Makes for a more enjoyable on-road experience, no? They're expecting AWD grip from a 2WD car.
And zero distinction was made between the Nissan GTR Ring 7:08 time (conducted by Nissan) and the MB GTR's 7:10 time (conducted by Sport Auto).
Lieberman...
Pobst...![]()
Motor Trend (and Randy Pobst) and Lieberman have a history of loathing cars that can easily oversteer. Randy says such cars make him nervous around the track.
Regarding the Nismo, not many realize, the Nissan GTR NISMO used for the lap time had several different aero parts, different engine tune, wing etc. Stillen was supposedly selling the NISMO N-Attack kit, but most of the N-attack kit was not legal in the US so they ended up watering it down significantly.
Prices are strong now too, even for non-Z-tune R34s.Too bad this never came in LHD, otherwise, I'd would've bought two without hesitation
