Its new style is even more compelling and elegant, and its chic and distinguished interior is ushering in a new cycle with the first rendering of the brand’s new design language. The new technical front radiates vigour, the light signature has been completely revamped and channels the brand’s identity, and the new taut, exact and efficient lines give this New Clio a more striking character and make it a vibrant status symbol with a more emotional feel. New Clio has also updated its technology, for instance including a digital dashboard in all its trims. It comes with a wider choice of powertrains than any other car in its category, so everyone can choose the configuration that best matches their needs. The highlight is the 145 hp E-Tech full hybrid combining driving pleasure with savings.
New Clio will come in a choice of trims including the new Esprit Alpine trim. The latter’s one-of-a-kind sporty, techy and classy looks add intensity to a vehicle that encapsulates everything the Renaulution stands for.

The Clio is a great car. It demands nothing and it gives you nothing. That's a quote from a good friend and fellow E39 owner, who lived with one for a couple of years.

IMO, the best generation was the 3rd one. The front end looks were kind of questionable, but the car was solid, the interior was well put together and the handling was fun and not trying to pass for something bigger. With the 4th generation the Clio grew up a lot and it became a solid family car, with descent space and on road behavior of a much bigger car. It stopped being fun though, and the interior, while looking good, it was crap. The 5th generation continues the same path.

If I was on a tight budget and needed to have only one car, a Clio mk4 or mk5 with the brilliant 1.5 dci engine would be my choice. What I dream about, though, is a mk3 Clio RS!

PS. My 1990 Clio is still alive and going strong!
 
Renaults look quite good from the outside lately, but their interior game is a hot mess. So cheap and plastic looking.
This Clio is still fairly ok from the inside, maybe because it's their oldest model.
