CLK-Class (C209) New Mercedes CLK and E-Class Interior Spied

The Mercedes-Benz C209 is the second generation CLK-Class, launched in 2002. The car was available in both hardtop coupé (C209) and in soft-top convertible (A209). Although its design and styling was derived from the E-Class, the mechanical underpinnings were based on the smaller C-Class. It was succeeded by the E-Class C207. Production: 2001–2009.
I don't think the interior image is fake or photoshopped. The gear lever could be a manual transmission or the whole thing is an early prototype.

Well, it ain't a manual, that's for sure. But the car could be an early prototype. I'm still more attracted to think the picture is fake nevertheless.

Come on Rob it's too early to judge,me too don't like what i see but i'm dead sure when i see it in real i'll change my mind just the same case with the new C,when i first the spy pics i said what's the crap is this? then when i sat in a proper optioned Avantgarde model i was very pleased

Yeah, of course I'll give it a chance.

I like the chop/spy shot when I saw it a few months ago and still like it. A wood panel with a aluminum accent stretching along side it makes the car look classy and modern. I hope the final interior looks just like it, except for the dials which remind me of the BMW E46.

Why is the CLK missing the center gear column in the E-Class I heard they are making it like the S-Class, why with the CLK.

I think the lower end models that come standard with a manual transmission will get a center-console shifter. That is unless Mercedes is planning on not offering a manual transmission on the E-Class / CLK. :eusa_thin

In the 1950s up until the W123 (1976-1985), Mercedes offered a column shift manual transmission option. It wasn't very popular though on the latter MB's (W116 and W123 specifically even the W114/W115 from the 1960s rarely had it).
