C-Class New C class vs 2012 S class?

The Mercedes-Benz C-Class is a series of compact executive cars produced by Mercedes-Benz Group AG. Introduced in 1993 as a replacement for the 190 (W201) range, the C-Class was the smallest model in the marque's line-up until the W168 A-Class arrived in 1997.

Here's the background. I had a W222 on order but decided to try and start a side business. Now I've used the cash for the business, instead of the car. Which leads me to my predicament, I like the new tech of the baby s-class, but also like a big cushy ride of an S class.

Naturally I haven't been able to find any comparisons of the two models I'm considering, so want to turn to the forums. Has anyone owned both, or driven both closely together? I'd like to stay at or around $45k which puts me in a almost base new C with a package or 2, it puts me into a nicely loaded used S class with 40kish miles.

Any thoughts are appreciated.

personally, I will go for the used s class. There is no replacement for pure luxury.

I don't think these cars are comparable at all. The S will be miles ahead in regards to space and luxury.
The C class will have newer and modern technology etc, but if you can afford a used S,and are able to keep up with all unplanned repair costs etc, go for it.

I can't tell which one to choose over the other, but Megaoctane raises a great point. The upkeep for a used S will be pricey.

Are you considering getting a used S via CPO?

S-Class all the way. But make sure there's some sort of warranty.
