Yeah you're right but quattro is used throughout the entire Audi lineup
Yes, but it's the first word that comes into your mind when you think of Audi. Not TDI, not TFSI, not Avant, not RS, not nothing. It's quattro. It's what made Audi famous and it's an Audi trademark. No word can be more audi-ish than that.

is always written in a small q.
A capital "Q" and a non-capital "q" are still the same letter last time I checked.

They could have went up rather than drop the alphabet and called their SUVs U3/5/7. lol
...

^I think U would have worked well, after all it stands for the word Utility in the middle of SUV.

V, would work well, too, as it's the third letter of the SUV abbreviation...
It's not funny any more, Bob.

I think V wasnt a bad choice of letter considering its the only letter with any appeal that hasnt already been used, but the confusion with engine configurations. Imagine the new audi V4
V4 Owner: Hey I've just bought a new Audi V4!
Friend: So you've bought bought an Audi powered by a 4-cylinder engine, but not one arranged inline like almost all 4 bangers
but in a vee shape?
V4 Owner: Nope:D
Friend: Hmmmm... let me quess an efficiency or sport orientated A4?
Owner: Ummm no?:(
Friend: A rival to BMW's much anticipated 3er GT??
Owner: No!
Friend: Then what the hell is it??
Owner: An MPV:D
Friend: Oooo. I see. That must be nice. ( Then walks away, coughing in a vain to attempt to disquise the laughter that came close to overpowering him) P.S The owners erection subsequently waned when he realised he'd spent the family inheritance on a posh ( next-gen) Sharan.:ROFLMAO:

Heres a quick list of the letters that are already in use to be combined with a single number.
A Audi
B Alpina
C Citroen
D Alpina
E Used on precursor to "i" Cars for concept E1
F Mclaren
H Hummer

S is also used by Volvo and you forgot it. I feel deeply offended :D

Ah but Giannis, I said "list of the letters that are already in use to be combined with a single number" I feel offended you would doubt the truthfulness and attention to detail of one of my posts:LOL:

No entirely sure there's a market for a luxury MPV but who amI to argue.

Sure there is I would have bought an Audi version of the Touran which I did buy. Some of us want an MPV which is a cut above the mass market brands.

Autocar said:
Audi has given the green light to its first MPV, with sources saying it will become part of the current A3 family.

It will probably be offered in five and seven-seat configurations and could be badged ‘V4’.

The A3’s MQB architecture offers the flexibility to build models with an elevated driving position and the new car will probably use the longer rear overhang of the MQB’s saloon version to host a third row of seats.

Industry paper ANE has reported that a concept version has been built, but Audi bosses are yet to decide whether to reveal it at September’s Frankfurt motor show.

Audi has long struggled with the MPV format. The high-roof Roadjet concept was first shown in 2006 at the Detroit show but it didn’t make any further progress.

Last summer, now-departed Audi sales and marketing chief Peter Schwarzenbauer told Autocar the traditional MPV “was a boring concept” but that an Audi with “six or seven seats” was a possibility.

It could, however, be three years before the high-roof Audi reaches showrooms.

Audi

Audi AG is a German automotive manufacturer of luxury vehicles headquartered in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. A subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, the company’s origins date back to the early 20th century and the initial enterprises (Horch and the Audiwerke) founded by engineer August Horch (1868–1951). Two other manufacturers (DKW and Wanderer) also contributed to the foundation of Auto Union in 1932. The modern Audi era began in the 1960s, when Volkswagen acquired Auto Union from Daimler-Benz, and merged it with NSU Motorenwerke in 1969.
