I just hate this kind of advertisments: "My dick is bigger than yours".

What's the point in saying that Audi has won three C&D comparisons, or that Audi is growing more than BMW and MB somewhere? BMW and MB can make ads and say that they grow more somewhere else, or say that they have won more EVO or AMS tests. So what?

Why can't they just make advertisments of their absolute products, or their brand's message?

First - There're taking about premium brands (bmw,merc etc).
Second - Sales mean more than car&driver comparisons don't you think? :cool:

The 'Spell' ad shows that Audi has finally created a 3er-coupe's, Rx's, & the Ferrari's rivals. Imo, it's more like something to just cheer instead of yelling! :eusa_shif

To make my post a bit more scientific I searched Google a bit, since I didn't have anything better to do.

This kind of advertising is called comparison advertising, which is defined as: Promotional technique in which an advertiser claims the superiority of its product over competing product(s) by direct or indirect comparison. If other products are mentioned by their name (and not as 'brand X,' 'brand Y,' etc.) the owners of those brands may challenge the fairness of the comparison in a court. Also called comparative advertising or competitive advertising.


It appears that this kind of advertising is very restricted in Europe, to an extent that it is basically forbidden.
 
Ok arent some cars missplaced there

I can buy
R8 vs Ferrari
And Q5 vs the Lexus SUV

And i can even buy with a stretch
M3 vs S4

But a cab A5 to counter a E class?

Was the A6 to ugly for the old E class even??:D
