MITSUBISHI Concept-X (show car)

With an exterior that carries over the full flavor of Lancer Evolution's spartan road machine image and a high quality interior with a functional layout that encourages the driver to concentrate solely on operating his machine, MITSUBISHI Concept-X points to way a new-age Evolution design that is as handsome and purposeful as it is functional.

In the mechanical components department, MITSUBISHI Concept-X mates a turbocharged aluminum cylinder block MIVEC engine to a high-performance 6-speed auto-manual transmission. Extensive use is made of aluminum in the roof, engine hood and other body panels. Chassis performance has been substantially improved with the introduction of Mitsubishi's latest 4WD-based Super All Wheel Control (S-AWC) vehicle dynamics control system. The incarnation of driving pleasure, this highly advanced technical specification makes MITSUBISHI Concept-X a showcase on wheels for Mitsubishi Motors' quintessential road performance technology.

Just had to post that - looks like a notchback version of the Sportback Concept, and it looks good! I'd be happy with one. I'm not sure how a normal version would look without the flared wheel arches, though, but the proportions look promising - like a Ford Focus or a Mazda 6, in some way.

That's also great! Amazing! Thanks for the pic, Frank! Hope Brian bought you a drink on us.. :D

There's details that need to be worked on, but overall, I'm hopeful. The diffuser is a bit busy, but I like it nevertheless. I don't like the ricey-ness of the rear lights, and how they have that little kink (it does echo the front lights, but still). But not bad, either. And I've never been keen on mega spoilers.

However, the shape is great, and how the area at the top of the bootlid sort of juts out, which reminds me of the current Renault Laguna, looks good to me as well.

I like it. Hope they develop this idea further.

My dream car, for its price bracket. My friend has an Evo XIII with around 10K in mods and it's a monster. This thing is supposed to take the game to next level. I can't wait.

Very RX8 like, mean looking little guy!

I like it!

Mitsubishi making a come back i see.... very nice!

I'm really liking the lastest designs from Mitsubishi!

If this is the next EVO, then I'm loving it!

Yeah the design is great and I guess the they are gonna be like Audi and use this front for every single car in their line up(no offence)

Yeah, checked out these pics at WCF just a bit ago. Interesting..

It doesn't look so modern to me as much as art deco - something from the 20s maybe. All the geometric shapes and the aeas with lots of lines in bold forms.. and brushed metal and black materials (likely plastic). A striking look, for sure, and although I'm not that keen, I'm glad that a mainstream (admittedly this is a concept for the performance version) compact Japanese car could potentially have something more than a beancounter regulated plastic interior.

Whats with that interior, the seat is like a plstic bus looking seat. Whole interior could use a make over... i know they are trying to keep it plain and simple for weight issues, but c'mon, thats just out right bland and nasty.

That Lancer concept just screams BADASS. I hope to God they make it. With the next generation Subaru's looking like clowns, Mitsubishi might be able to get some "respect" which they IMO deserve.

Now please restyle the UGLYASS Galant! :eusa_pray

Yeah Chris the new Lancer is a killer and it's about time they updated the design of the car. It have more och less looked the same for about 10 years now. I hope the production model won't be too stripped down and please make us an interior that deserves to be touched.

If you mean the American Galant, Mitsubishi Australia were looking for a replacement for our ageing local large car, the Magna, and modified the Galant. IMO it looks much better.

Still, the smaller and sleeker Japanese/European(?) Galant was even better looking.

But this Lancer in disguise should be about the same size. I hope they also make more affordable versions for everyone else as well. I'm just hoping they don't water down the design too much to cut costs.
