SLK/SLC Mercedes is Giving Away a Lease on a 2013 SLK250

The Mercedes-Benz SLK-Class is a compact executive roadster, produced by Mercedes-Benz. It was released in 1996 and was built at the Mercedes plant in Bremen, Germany, until the end of production in 2020. The former name "SLK" was derived from sportlich (sporty), leicht (lightweight), and kurz (short). With the release of the facelift R172 in 2016, the SLK-Class was renamed to SLC-Class in accordance with the revised nomenclature adopted by Mercedes. Under this scheme, roadsters use the base name "SL", followed by the model's placement in Mercedes-Benz hierarchy, the letter "C", being the roadster equivalent to the C-Class.

Mercedes-Benz is running a contest through its Facebook page that allows you to win a 13-month lease on this sharp-looking drop-top. All you have to do to enter is head over at the contest link and submit a photo of what your Mercedes-Benz summer would look like. No, it doesn’t have to include you driving a Benz, it can be you with “Mercedes-Benz” written in the sand.
You’re allowed to submit a photo every day until the contest is over. The contest ends on September 10th at 11:59 a.m. EST (one minute before noon for those that have issues with the 12 a.m. or p.m. deal). The winner will be picked on or around September 20th and will be notified via telephone, email, and U.S. mail. In addition to the car, Mercedes-Benz is kind enough to give you an additional $7,500 to offset the taxes you have to pay on the car – so thoughtful of them.
Now the bad part... Just like any lease, you are limited to a total of only 15,000 miles per year. So no cruising the beach all day and night trying to pawn this Mercedes off as yours, only to have your lie exposed just a year later when you pick up your new fiance in your 1975 GMC K1500... Not like you’d do that, right??

Saw this yesterday on Auto Mudial: Since the 2008 crash the small roadster sales in the U.S. dropped from a steady 250 000 units per year to 150 000 units per year. With and since the U.S. economy picked up all segments in Automotive business followed the upward trend and some growth also. Except the small roadster segment - nothing, no recovery. Still at 150 000 units per annum.

BMW also has specials on Z4 roadsters, whilst M-B offers AMG-kit for free, no extra cost option on SLK's.

Very true. Seems very unexpected as this segment was once so appreciated. Now it is struggling to remain alive, despite "entry-level" models

What?? I just realized this thread is a year old , I didn't look at the date and assumed it was posted a couple of days ago. Heh, just goes to show where the SLK is with regards to sales...Human...I think its more like 150 per annum, not 150K.
