Mercedes Hitler Ad

I guess a thanks would be fair.

Okay I am going to step into political minefield here. Something that always irritated the crap out of me. The Germans repent that ugly part of their history (at least majority of them) and go the extra mile to distance itself from the symbolism of that era. The South here in US also has an ugly history and a war to go with it, except they celebrate it and embrace the symbolism from that era.

Dumb ass bitches indeed :D

Guys, may I remind you that if we were to pick which forum rule is most strictly enforced, that would be the "no politics" one!

:)

Something I have always admired the Germans for amongst a host of other qualities.
In our case- I don't know what to say.

I know what you mean, but I think there is a little bit of relevance here.. It was more about our humanity and less political.

Just my two cents.

I'm gonna step forward and be the party pooper here..
Some people at work showed it to me a few days ago and thought that it was really funny. I didn't.
First of all, jokes about Germans and Hitler are soooo old. It's almost too easy to make one. So get over it already..

Secondly, This is horrible. I know that this will start a conversation about "if you could back in time and meet Hitler as a kid, blablabla.....", but this seems to be just a cheap attempt to achieve shock value.
The video showed us something horrible (kid gets hit by a car and dies) and then forces us to think that it was a good thing (it's alright, it was only Hitler!)
This is just bad humor. the only good thing about it is the technical aspect of making such a video. it has beautiful images and good way of telling a story in 30 seconds.

Beautifully made, black humor and advertising in its purest form, and spectacularly funny.
A few years ago might have won a Clio Award, today everyone's is closed head and everything is taken the in wrong way, everything is prohibited, but you have to maintain and promote good mood

This is the problem. if you don't think it's funny then you're closed minded. I'm a fan of black humor, but I just find this one not funny and I explained why.
I appreciate the creative and technical potential of this ad, but I just don't think it's funny.

I do agree. It ain't funny at all. Seeing a kid being run over and then die is not my type of fun.
I do get the idea... it ain't hard... but it's dumb.
Sieg @#*&!

IMO, it's lame & inappropriate.
