B Class Facelift Pictures

Daimler-Chrysler is about to update the company’s Mercedes B-Class by giving it a facelift. It includes a new front grille, new air intakes under the bumper and new headlights.

The photos are showing a prototype, which is also featuring a turn signal in the side mirrors and different taillights and a modified rear bumper.

Under the hood the car will get new fuel and diesel engines with more power and less consumption.

The new B-Class is scheduled for launch in spring 2008.

Re: B Class Facelift Pictures

I hope they improve the handling, especially since they market it as a sporty city car. It's not even remotely sporty compared to the A-Class. :usa7uh:

Re: B Class Facelift Pictures

damn, thats a bit quik isnt it? i mean the B class came out after the A CLass?
is it low sales that are effecting the FL?

Re: B Class Facelift Pictures

thats no a FL..its the US spec B class testing..

The B class is not coming to the United States anytime soon. If it does, it will come when the next generation is revealed in like 5 years.

Although available in Canada, it appears the Mercedes B-Class MPV will not make it to the U.S. amongst concerns of deteriorating USD/Euro exchange rates as well as negative brand implications as Mercedes-Benz, a name associated with upmarket premium cars, introduces a vehicle down market.

Nonetheless, the B-Class is going strong in Europe where Mercedes-Benz brand image has greater depth. Here are the latest spy photos of the B-Class face-lift taken near Mercedes' Stuttgart headquarters. The face-lift includes a revised front bumper fascia with new air intake holes, side mirrors with integrated turn signals and modestly revised rear bumper fascia. Mercedes latest fuel and diesel engines, which produce more power yet consume less fuel, will naturally be included. The B-Class face-lift is expected to launch in spring 2008.

Agree.

Both A and B-Class are wrong products.

The sandwich platforms gives them a too high shape, and very bad driving position, and the motors are way too noiy, whereas they have nothing from the Mercedes' comfort due to the short suspension...

I have nothing against the idea of an A-Class, but please with Mercedes' comfort and shape!!!

Hummmm, is it me or has that truck got a bent Rim??? and is that man in the merc on our right hand side, wearing a olden day type washer woman hat????

It's blindingly obvious that Merc can make great cars. So why do they continue to pussy-foot about with these models? Some of the worst cars I've ever driven - and I've driven some rubbish in my time.

What Mercedes Benz really needs is a sleek, premium, 5 door RWD hatchback to take on the A3, 1er and Golf. Oh, and drop that daft cheese-wedge of a "sport coupe" too while you're at it.

My advice for the B-Class? Strip it out and turn it into a panel van, add low-emissions diesels, transfer it to Commercial Vehicles division and market it as a lightweight delivery vehicle aimed at florists and postal couriers and the like. Pitch it against the VW Caddys and Renault Kangoos and maybe there'll be some decent money in it still...

I should charge for such pearls of wisdom.

In the defense of the current of A and B-Class, they're not rubbish. The first generation A-Class was a terrible car in terms of build quality and interior materials and engine refinement for instance, not the case with the current A or B-Class.

Many people just can't accept the fact that a "luxury brand" like Mercedes makes subcompacts. If you live in Europe, you might actually see the appeal. Fuel is expensive here, efficiency is a priority. Parking is hard to find, especially in the big cities: small cars come in handy in this case. These are all reasons why the A or B-Class exist. And let's not forget that they're a great way of attracting younger buyers.

I'm fine with the current A-Class. The car I don't really like is the B-Class. I thought the A-Class was just fine. Quite spacious and practical with zippy engines. Why make the B-Class: especially since it will steal sales from the A and C-Class.

The horrible W168 A-Class turned out to be "decent car" in the end, and it made the A-Class a "cult car" in Europe. Cult cars sell: look at the modern MINI, VW Beetle, Fiat 500 etc. This is a great way of selling cars, making money and satisfying a consumer need (the need to have a Benz, a safe car etc.). Besides, the current W169 A-Class is well built, reliable, fun to drive, zippy, spacious and fairly comfortable (a 6/10 in my book). It's a great car and owners think so too. :usa7uh:

If I was MB, I'd can the B-Class. Seems pointless next to the A and C-Class.

The A/B-Class are good cars.
Excellent finition, good-looking, spacious, so not a basd car.

But too noisy, not comfortable enough.
And they have a big big problem for me, it is the driving position. The sandwich structure, so motors partly in front and partly under the car, with a double-floor, means that you sit very high. But the roof is not very high, so the driving position is strange: the seat is low, the floor is high. the roof is too low...
It means that the driving position is awful for me. you just aren't good. your legs are too high. not comfortable. so you try to high the seat, and you almost touch the roof...so you don't see anything because the windscreen is not high enough, you have the eye on the sunscreens... you low it, your legs are too high, you don't feel comfortable...

The passengers have the same problem...

This is the only car where I always am trying to find a driving position.

Too bad.:t-hands:

This is the only car where I always am trying to find a driving position.

I'm 6'4" and I have absolutely no problems finding a comfortable seating position in an A or B-Class. I also don't bump my head with the roof (despite my Afro! :D). :t-hands:

You can adjust the seats height-wise (lower or raise them). Try that next time you drive one. :usa7uh: :t-cheers:

My biggest problem with both the A or B-Class is the driving view upfront: you cannot see the tip of the hood, especially in the A-Class. This makes parking the car problematic, especially if you don't have Parktronic. :usa7uh:
