Interesting qoute from scott26 on future M offerings:

In 2008 the Z4 roadster will be entering it's final year of production , at this time both Z4M roadster and Z4M Coupe will inherit the new M3's V8 - With the baby M car entering production of 2008 it makes sense to enter this segment with an Mcar - the entry M car at about 350 PS. And remember with the current mainstream models being fettled nothing has been decided as yet in relation to the Mcar. But as always at BMW the creative fountain is flowing.

The 4.0 V8 will forgive any transgressions of the current car any automotive journalist has ever made mention of. Too exciting kids, too exciting, even more exciting would be a sequential gearbox of some sort for those of the daddy long leg variety such as myself.
