K8 is just body code. That's a car for Chinese market on Compact Wide platform. So basically a 3-row long wheelbase Jeep Cherokee KL/K4 (KL is US body code, K4 is Chinese).
I typed something similar on some forums. Unfortunately I don't believe in such outcome. I will certainly avoid to mention it on Allpar because some guys will not be happy.
Actually one guy on Allpar said that Chrysler version of K8 will have dedicated body shop in Belvidere. As you probably know Belvidere can have two body shops. Used for Compass/Patriot and Dart. Assembly line is shared.
But I heard that Grand Cherokee WL on Giorgio will go to second Belvidere body shop. It will be interesting. Certainly FCA does not want production pause between WK2 and WL which must occur if it's staying at JNAP and if they are changing platforms.
