PRESS RELEASE

The Jaguar XKR-S produces 550 hp with 502 lb/ft of torque, offers a top speed of 186mph (300km/h), and can accelerate from 0-60mph in 4.2 seconds. Full details, images and video of the Jaguar XKR-S will be released at the Geneva Motor Show press day on March 1, 2011.

In addition to this debut, Jaguar will be marking the 50th anniversary of the E-Type with the first in a series of celebrations. Jaguar will be hosting an E-Type celebration at the Restaurant Hotel du Parc des Eaux-Vives in Geneva, where the original car was introduced by the marque's founder Sir William Lyons half a century ago.

When launched in 1961, the appeal of E-Type transcended the automotive world. So highly regarded were its' inherent rightness of proportion, stance, and purity of line, it was installed as an exhibit at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City. It remains in their permanent collection to this day.

The influence of the E-Type is still apparent in Jaguar's modern range - products that offer a peerless blend of performance, comfort, cutting-edge technology and award-winning design.

"It is impossible to overstate the impact the E-Type had," said Ian Callum, Jaguar Design Director. "Here was a car that encapsulated the spirit of the revolutionary era it came to symbolize. We're looking forward to celebrating achievement and looking forward with our all-new sports cars in Geneva."

Seriously.....DAMN!!!!

It's either nothing, or everything at once. Always.

Also....550 hp. A lot more than the V12 Virage (I was complaining about Virage power output in the Virage thread)!!

This car gets my seal of approval. Wing, color, performance and rims are all included.

I like the new headlights (I hate the old one) and the black grill, but the rest of the aero stuff looks too riced up - not fit for a Jag.

Donkeykong, why don't you do a little search before you post? This thread was the latest in the Jaguar forum!
Thanks

This car just doesn't do it for me. Nice color, though. Isn't it about time for a refresh of this car?

Looks really very nice. I like it. Eventhough IMO the Maserati Granturismo MC Stradale looks even better, on the performance side the Jaguar XKR-S is defenitely the better car. By the way what is Maserati presenting at Geneva? The new Quattroporte? I hope not the SUV. Would love Maserati to build something exciting, a kind of two seater lightweight sports car, even be it a V6.

Real Life Pic's Jaguar XKR-S

Jaguar had a XKR-S Drive and Display Setup at the Petit LeMans a couple of weeks ago. Took some pic's and drove the car. Jag says only 300 cars coming to US over the next 3 years.100 per yr. Keep exclusivity up. Not sure about international availability. The colors are Polaris White and Italian Racing Red. A couple of Ultimate Black Metallic. Car is billed as a 4 seater but the back seat room is less than a Porsche 911. I don't get a chance to drive 550hp cars very often. Drove the car in Sport Mode most of the time. Throttle response was instantaneous...so unlike most of the cars on the road today. It pulled for as long as you had the guts to keep your foot in the gas .The best exhaust note inside and outside of the car I've ever heard. Just pure large displacement V8 music. Jag tells you that at USD $132k starting price....the XKR-S is the lowest priced supercar in the world. I'm not sure about that statement........Nissan GT-R comes to mind at $90k. Supercar or not it would be a great track/weekend automobile.Thanks. PalBay
