Is the vehicle's own Voltmeter safe?

Autobahn Newbie
Hi guys, I have an opel corsa D vehicle. I want to ask you a question . Last Saturday my car battery died and I bought a new Varta battery. I also had my charger overhauled. There is no problem in the first start and operation of the car, but before starting the car, the voltage value of the ignition screen shows 12.4 volts and when you start the car, it becomes 14.2 volts, do you think this value is normal? Or is there a problem with the new battery? I look at this information from the voltage information on the vehicle's kilometer screen, do you think it is safe to look from the vehicle? Or should I measure directly from the battery with a multimeter? Thanks.

Just after starting the car, the alternator is charging the battery, which is why its voltage increases. If you have a multimeter and measure directly from the battery, you should get the same reading. It's normal.
