New car sales in Hong Kong are up 12% year-on-year in September to 4,240 registrations, bringing the year-to-date total to 34,969 units, up 11% on 2012. The Toyota Hiace reclaims the top spot it holds year-to-date by selling 208 units for a 4.9% market share this month, adding up to 1,671 and 4.8% so far in 2013 vs. 1,417 and 4.1% for the BMW 5 Series, up 4 spots on last month to land in third position in September. Another very strong showing for the Toyota Noah at #4 and 3.9% vs. #8 and 2.3% year-to-date.
Mercedes has a few models in great shape this month in Hong Kong. Leader in August, the E-Class is down one spot to #2 this month but with 202 sales and 4.8% it misses out on a second consecutive pole position by just 6 units… It is now #3 year-to-date. The A-Class is up 15 ranks to reach a fantastic 6th place at 139 units and 3.3% while the CLA-Class is already up to #32 with 35 sales and 0.8% for its 2nd month in the Hong Kong ranking. Notice also the BMW 3 Series up 9 ranks to #5, the Toyota Crown LPG Taxi very solid once again at #11 vs. #32 year-to-date, the Audi Q5 up a huge 116 spots to #18, Audi A3 up 82 to #31 and the BMW 4 Series making its very first appearance at #165 with one unit sold this month.

Hong Kong (China) March 2014: S-Class Mercedes’ best-seller

Hong Kong (China) January 2014: Mercedes S-Class up to #3!
New car sales in Hong Kong are down 21% year-on-year in March to 4,369 registrations, which brings the First Quarter total to 12,435 units, just one unit (!) less than at the same time last year. The Toyota Hiace reclaims the models lead both this month with 246 sales and 5.6% share and year-to-date at 630 units and 5.1% while the valiant (and legendary) Toyota Crown LPG Taxi remains #2 with 159 sales and 3.6% and the BMW 3 Series rounds up the podium like in February at 155 units and 3.5%. Not many regions can say it but Hong Kong can: the S Class is Mercedes' best-seller here this month at an out-of-this-world 6th place with 2.9% share, even ranking 5th year-to-date at 3.3%! Notice also the Audi A3 shooting up 62 spots to #10 with 109 sales (the all-new sedan accounts for 82%), the Volvo V40 up 18 to #20 and the Mercedes CLA very robust once again at #22.
