Well i have the same S on my gearbox..
And it must stand for sport, cause the gears change later, like near redline..
Thanks....that is what I was thinking it stood for as well, but for all I know it meant Stupid (people, use this gear, lol).
I don't have a book for it, other than a Chilton's manual, which actually covers several models.
Not like I am going to be spinning my tires from a stand-still, or am going to be passing anything to outrageous, lol. A speed demon this car is not....it's all about class.
The interior is in really good shape other than a tear on the drivers seat. (worn, I am sure), and the bottom of the back seat has collapsed.
We are planning on having the interior re-done next summer, so I'll address that at that time. We are also planning on changing the color to metallic green of some shade. (Not sure yet, it will go well with our purple Suburban sitting in the driveway too, lol).
It has a couple of little rust issues around the rear wheel wells , but I have been quoted about $500 to have that addressed.
I need to get a replacement light fixture for the right rear tail light. The piece that holds the turn-signal light in is broken off, so I need to replace the whole piece inside the trunk. The windshield wipers don't seem to want to work either, but I haven't really checked into that. I turn the switch on the stick and the right one moves a little, and that's it. Probably have to replace the motor for it.
Also have to replace the hood release latch. It's got a pair of vice grips attached to it at the moment. (They came with the car, lol).
Other than that, it's in really good shape for a 31 year old car for $500, lol.
Thanks everyone for the welcome! I am sure I will enjoy this forum.
