Mercedes-Benz Heritage GmbH is taking a further step forward in its growth and future strategy: on February 1, 2024, the company will acquire components of the former Kienle Automobiltechnik GmbH, Heimerdingen, and integrate them into the Mercedes-Benz Classic Centre. The commitment is broadly based: Mercedes-Benz Heritage GmbH takes on experienced specialists, offers them a perspective and thus also secures valuable expertise for the future. In addition, Mercedes-Benz Classic is responsible for the extensive stock of spare parts as well as specialised work equipment for complex work on exclusive Mercedes-Benz classics. With these steps, the wholly-owned subsidiary of Mercedes-Benz AG is further expanding its position as the leading centre of excellence for classic vehicles of the Mercedes-Benz brand.

For the brand identity of the oldest luxury car manufacturer in the world, its own history plays a prominent role. For this reason, Mercedes-Benz Group AG merged all Classic activities into Mercedes-Benz Heritage GmbH in spring 2023. As a result, the Classic division has been further strengthened and will be able to develop even more flexibly and dynamically in the future. In addition to the Mercedes-Benz Classic Centre, the first point of contact for factory restorations, repairs and maintenance with the highest originality, this includes many other areas: the Mercedes-Benz Museum, the Archives and Vehicle Collection, Mercedes-Benz Classic Genuine Parts, the Mercedes-Benz Classic Vehicle Trade and the Classic Club Management.

It’s such a pity Kienle is out of business. I’m happy for the employees that find a new ‘old’ job at Mercedes.
