Goodbye, white van man (Transporter Sportline -UK-)

Fed up being white van man? Then Volkswagen might have the answer, with a bizarre new version of its Transporter - the Sportline.

The new machine includes a colour-coded front bumper and lower spoiler, chrome grilles and side rails, body-coloured mirrors and door handles, and a rear roof spoiler. And better still, it isn't available in white - only black, red and silver.

Under the skin, the Transporter Sportline uses a 2.5-litre TDI engine and sits on Eibach suspension springs which lower the van by 30mm. Five-spoke 18in alloys and low-profile tyres complete the look.

The interior has plenty of kit to make fast-lane hogging all the more comfortable, including air conditioning, electric windows, CD player stereo and an uprated driver's seat with armrest.

VW thinks the Sportline will appeal to 'user-chooser' van operators, allowing them to opt for a bit more individuality while retaining van practicality. We reckon it's custom-made for surfer dudes and rock tours...

I'd love to know who would want to buy a van like that, it looks pretty cool though!

Re: Goodbye, white van man

There are quite a few kitted-up vans in Finland.... usually with the name of a company that sells car accessories or audio equipment on the side. And then there's of course the Transporter-based taxis and ambulances where bodykits seems to be the rule rather than exception.
