Very interesting.
I would add that germany is profiting more than any other country in the world of the globalization, and that for a very simple reason: when China builds a new factory, they buy German tools and machinery. When India needs more precise and modern tools, they buy German tools and machinery...
In fact, germany is selling its products to the developping countries (tools and machinery), and to the richest people on earth (expensive cars, kitchen-tools from Bosch, Siemens and AEG) and has the leading automotive suppliers (ZF, Bosch, Continental/Schaeffler, Siemens, Hella)... They of course have some of the richest car/bus/truckmakers on the planet (VWAG, BMW and Daimler). And they are leaders in green tech (solar panels, windpowered technology...)
So they are selling to those who can afford to pay more, and are present in all the most dynamic markets!!
However, the social climate is worsening recently, and the crisis will touch Germany quite hard.
