Interesting and highly attractive new Geely saloon that will be launched in 4th quarter of 2020 and based on Volvo platform.
GEELY PREFACE
Compact sedan based on the Volvo XC40
In 2019, Geely presented the pre-series concept car in Shanghai. The series version of the compact sedan has now been presented in China.
D he new Geely sedan will come in China in the fourth quarter 2020 on the market. The Geely Preface is already the second model from the Chinese to be based on the CMA platform developed jointly with Group subsidiary Volvo. The CMA platform can also be found, for example, under the Volvo XC40, the Polestar 2 and various Lynk & Co. models.
The 2019 study still had doors that opened in opposite directions.
In terms of design, the 4.79-meter-long sedan with the coupé-like roof profile remains largely true to the concept car. The most striking change concerns the doors. While the study still had portals opening in opposite directions, the doors on the production model are now all conventionally hinged at the front.
A two-liter, four-cylinder turbo engine with 190 hp is to work under the bonnet. The Chinese do not want to provide further information on the drive until shortly before the market launch. This also applies to information on the interior and equipment. The study was very futuristic with four individual seats and a cockpit with few switches and two free-standing screens.
View into the futuristic cockpit of the study.
CONCLUSION
The Volvo parent company consistently exploits the existing modular concept and is gradually creating new models for all group brands.
