They're basically talking about how these cars were trendsetters in their day. The Audi was an AWD performance car, while the BMW kicked off the "family sports sedan" genre. The newer cars continue this trend but are more extreme, sportier, comfortable, more economical on fuel etc. The rest is pretty much stuff that can be found online (technical data etc.).

You guys need to take a course in German.
