This is probably the only Sony phone I would consider primarily due to it's size (IMO, 4.7" is the perfect size for a phone). If I were to nitpick, the design is now dated (same can be said for the entire Z lineup - desperately needs a reboot) and it doesn't run stock android (a google play edition would be perfect).

I got my Z3 Compact yesterday. So far the battery time is impressive. According to the phone is going to last for days. The size is perfect fit to me.

stamina: 6 days, 20 hours
Normal mode: 3 days

I have the app installed yesterday but don't know how to do a screenshot but it says Battery Life: 7 d, 23 h (1d 11,2 Active). Currently: 92% battery power.

Kind of late to the party, but I have the full size 5.2 inch Sony Xperia Z3 in white for 4 months now. It is hands down the best phone I have ever owned (I used to have Samsung Galaxy S2, iPhone 4s, Sony Xperia ZL in the past). Wife now uses the iPhone 4s.

After I held the iPhone 6 plus and Sony Xperia Z3 side by side, despite having a marginally smaller screen (5.2 inches vs 5.5 inches), the Xperia Z3 was tiny by comparison in the hand so it was a no brainer for me.

The screen always generates lots of strong reaction. People always ask me what phone is it? Resolution with deep black levels, battery life, camera (21 MP), multi tasking and build quality fit, finish (love the aluminum trim that runs alongside the phone) are the strongest qualities. Only downside is, keyboard typing is not as good as my old iPhone 4s especially for my rather stubby fingers, the 4K video can only be shot for a limited time as the phone starts to get hot very quickly, it does not the IR Blaster my old ZL used to have, which allowed me to control all of my household electronics (PVR, TV, Blue Ray, Home theater system etc.), but no biggie.

I am not a heavy user. Just some mild text messaging, some browsing and occasional phone calls here and there and my battery (on the full 5.2 inch Xperia Z3 with 3100 mAh battery) lasts me 4 - 5 days on stamina mode. Very happy with the battery life.

p.s. I have it paired with my Sony Smartwatch 2 (with the silver metal band) so I can read most of my emails, text messages, see incoming phone calls etc. while driving on my watch.

I believe the hacking issue had something to do with the delay. Just a guess.
