SLS sounds awesome, like a proper high revving engine, not the usual AMG rumble. But the 911 with old school manual and older gen cup still owns. Just look at the difference in driver's focus while driving a manual vs flappy paddle.

Great post.... we Americans will not ever get to push these cars that hard on public streets.
With that said you cannot go wrong with either one. I like the SLS BS... looks better and sounds better.
I also like the interior better than the Porsche. On top of that there is about a chance in a million you will run across another SLS-BS on the streets if you plan to buy one.

That may have more to do with how difficult it is to drive a GT2 RS at 10/10ths than the difference in transmission. The GT2 RS is the scariest car I have ever driven around a track.

Yea good point and probably true. But I have seen other videos where I felt the same - there is this video of Timo Kluck piloting 4.0 around Nordschleife and him doing the same in 991S PDK where he seems super distracted (but still sets an awesome time). And of course my own experience in my brief stints with flappy paddle transmissions.

I dislike the look of the SLS but you can't not admire the quality and engineering beneath the skin. The GT2 is just an animal and one of the scariest there is, one of the ultimate hairy chested men's cars.

You act as if we all do it every day, but having driven the GT2 RS, let alone on a track, is mindblowingly special and awesome.
I'd love to yea more first hand reports about that!

That's the difference between a Porsche and a Benz, not manual vs flappy ;)

I think most people who are interested in driving these types of cars on a track should try it at least once since reading about it is a poor substitute for actually doing it. I recommend these track days for the next time you're in the UK. It's "only" £500 to race a GT3 RS, GT3 RS 3.8 and GT3 RS 4.0 at Silverstone or if you are feeling brave (or suicidal!) you can head out in the GT2 & GT2 RS for £550.

There are hundreds of other track days in the UK, which is why people from other countries are often react with some disbelief when I mention how many super cars I have driven. You need to be careful though, some of the track days won't let you drive their cars flat out and aren't as fun.

Done the whole Silverstone thing several times courtesy of some of my suppliers and they are brilliant, really enjoyed the off-road and rally experience too. Likewise the Porsche experiences at their Silverstone centre is top notch and would highly rated it to anyone.
