Guys I need your help again, does anyone know which companies manfacture car fuel pumps which can handle E85 fuel or straight ethanol fuel?

What is the average pressure from a car fuel pump? I had a look at the some Bosch pumps, they can generate at least 5 bar of pressure.

Don't know anything about what fuel pumps can handle it, what car is it for?

I am doing some testing on an old Volvo truck engine, planning to inject 100%ethanol vapor into the air intake but I need to pump the ethanol fuel from a separate fuel tank.

If you are only doing testing for a little while anything would work.
If you plan to use it for a long time after a while a regular pump might fail.

I went to speak to my lab supervisor and he said last year someone tried using a normal petrol pump for ethanol and it got destroyed within 10 min, he advice me if i can't find a suitable fuel pump I might have to go look for those centrifugal type pumps as a substitute.

could be.
When we would get in a car that was filled with E85 and driven a while to turn on the check engine light. All we would do is drain the fuel tank and fill with good fuel. We would not mess with the fuel pump, maybe change the filter.

If it is just an engine on a stand any fuel pump should work for you as long as it can stand the fuel.

Just get a big tank of fuel and hook up a pressurized air line to it:usa7uh:

Thanks for the idea, I will look into it. Here is a pic of the thing which I am hoping won't explode into millions of pieces.

BTW, what is the purpose of this experiment?
:t-cheers:

Cool .....so I guess if you suddenly dissappear from the forum, we can assume it exploded :D

The primary objective is to reduce the level of pollution emitted from diesel engines, a bit of ethanol injection into the diesel engine can reduce the level of smoke and PM emissions, however emission levels of hydrocarbons and carbon monoxide will increase.

The secondary objective is to reduce diesel fuel consumption of the engine by substituting some diesel fuel with ethanol.

:D:D:D I will probably be the 1st GCF member to make it to national news, or international news.
