Direct injection V8 supercharged, 370 kW, 620 Nm mated to the widely acknowledged best torque convertor transmission around. Added to pretty styling, a unique interior and a resurgent Jaguar image - I think the XFR will hold it's own rather well.Good cars but IMO they born dated, already offering nothing new in segment and the total bad news is all new German performance machines are just around the corner.

As for the XKR - well that's one of the best cars that no-one shouts about in the world. And it looks like heaven.
XKR doesn't stand a chance? By what criteria?
The XKR is far more special than you're giving credit for. Even EVO has it as their favourite convertible GT.
Tarek. Bulldust. You're making up facts.
You've got to read EVO to appreciate that they, even as a British car mag, are the least patriotic when it comes to British badges. All they care about is the merit behind the car and whether it dishes up a good drive.
My EVO subscription costs me a fortune but it's a small price to pay for the best car magazine with the least biased, most objective journalism available in print.
For those not interested in reading the DR e-zine article...
Bovingdon gives the XFR 8.5 / 10 and the XKR 9 / 10. A great write-up and a very impressive performance from Jaguar.
I really adore the XKR Coupe and Convertible models. They bring something special to the market at good value for money too. They're not quite exotic but they are very posh. And capable too it seems.

Yeah the Jags are nice and all just not my thing,to each his own![]()

Hater!
Sure the car might not be a technical marvel like the Panamera or an M5 but the Jag does have it's own charisma. In style and elegance it outshines the Germans and I very much adore the design and find the power to be adequate for comfortable thrill on commute back from work. Think of it as a DBS but with two doors and half the price.I'll happily accept a red one.
