Ok, first of all let's face it, DAIMLER BENZ of West Germany pioneered most of this testing methods and many safety aspects of automobility. Secondly without spending the time to Google and copy+paste all the evidence, YES these testing continues and even more extreme than any of us can imagine.
INVITE:
Now, IMHO it's time and I invinte all Contributing Members for OE-manufacturers and world famous Premium Automobile Brands to join in here, come show us how your conglomerates adhere to strict EU and international legislation and Euro-NCAP standards not forgetting nor leaving behind your own strict Germanic way of inhouse quality control in it's entirety.
Short true story:
The X1 keeps giving a 'fault message' that says: 'Increased Battery Discharge'
I took the car to the local dealer back in June 2013. Thought they were going to change the battery and let BMW Motorplan pay-up.
When they called me to come down and read the report I was STUNNED! Since we got the X1 back in June 2010 in (the cars ECU knows EXACTLY what EVERY bulb + electrical componenet has done and for how long each time. On 19 September 2010 the L/H Park lamp (larger outer Corona ring) + L/H Tail Lamps 3x LED Striped lights was activated for 3hours 19min 37sec. yes, outside NIX Pub in my town when we had dinner with suppliers. When the car is vacuumed, it records every interior bulb activated and for how long....I think you get the picture.
You can't f-up your car and think you are going to fool it's maker! Today the cars record engine speed, loads, temp, every parameter you can think of, even how many times and with how much pressure the brakes has been activated. Oh, even the boot light and what 12v socket has been used and for how long. Feul tank fill-ups. Sorry, I'll stop ok! Everything is recorded.
In the end I had to pay R634.00 for a Battery Re-Charge and the 57 (A4) page report
